🌀 How to Play
⏰ Let’s Begin
All players start at their home base. This is a neutral space – it can’t be a lucky or unlucky field.
🎓 First Mission: School
Keep rolling until you reach one of the three neighborhood schools. There, you receive a 🎒School Task. Roll to determine the task number (1–12). Another player reads the task aloud: If you manage to complete it, you can move on next turn. If not, you try a new one in the following round.
🧭 School’s out! Where to next?
Choose at least two places in the neighborhood you want to visit after school. They should be spread across the map and not located directly next to each other. Whenever you land on one of your chosen spots, tell a story about it.
🗨️ Neighborhood Chit-Chat
If two players land on the same field, they have to make small talk: Ask each other a get-to-know-you question. Did you both learn something about one another? Then both move forward 1 space!
🚍 BVG Bonus
If you land on a subway or bus stop, you may move to the next station.
🏡 Time to Go Home
Once you’ve visited all your chosen spots, make your way back home.
🏆 And the Winner… goes home!
Whoever visits all their locations first and returns home wins
🎒 SCHOOL TASKS
🎲 Roll with 1 or 2 dice to determine the task number. Another player reads it aloud.
- Math – Name a number from your life (e.g., ZIP code, a date). The others guess what it stands for.
- Art – Draw the statue from the town hall square as you remember it.
- Science – Invent a new plant that grows on Donaustraße.
- Music – Sing a school song.
- Language Class – Create a two-line poem about the Donaukiez (feel free to mix languages!).
- Biology – Imitate an animal you’ve seen in the neighborhood. Others guess which one.
- History – How do you imagine the Donaukiez 100 years ago? Tell us!
- German – Say three words about your neighborhood in German… with a mouthful of water. Others guess.
- Ethics – You see someone drop trash. What do you do?
- Sports – Demonstrate a physical exercise for the others to copy.
- Kiez Studies – Name two places in Donaukiez that are not shown on the game board.
- Media Club – Create a headline for the neighborhood newspaper “Donauwelle”.
🍀 LUCKY FIELDS
🎲 Roll 1 or 2 dice to find out your lucky event:
- Happy Birthday! Everyone congratulates you in their native language. Each player must give you a compliment.
- You find a bicycle in the Telegram neighborhood chat! Ride straight to your next location.
- You joined a community initiative. All that engagement earns you a joker that protects you from the next unlucky field.
- The Mehlwurm bakery gifts you a spelt loaf. Full of energy, roll again!
- The U7 is actually on time today! Move forward 3 spaces.
- The QM team lends you all their foldable chairs. The other players must stand for 2 rounds.
- Today is Play Street—no cars in sight. Hop straight to your next goal!
- You receive free baklava at Damaskus. Life is sweet—go directly to your next location.
- Qi-Gong at Sivasli Canlar. You feel relaxed. Roll a second time.
- Street music on Weichselstraße. You start dancing. Move ahead 1 space; everyone else moves back 1!
- You receive not one, but two issues of the Donauwelle in your mailbox! You’re super informed and move forward 2 spaces.
- “The Gift” is open! At the pub quiz, you get to ask another player one of the school tasks.
🌧️ UNLUCKY FIELDS
🎲 Roll 1 or 2 dice to determine your misfortune:
- Yuck, dog poop! You must clean the shoes of the player to your right.
- Caught without a ticket again? You get fined: move 3 spaces back!
- Traffic jam at the town hall square. Skip one turn.
- Trash blocks the street. Wait one round until BSR arrives.
- Construction site! The district office forgot to install the pipes. Off you go to the town hall to complain!
- You forgot your bike lock. You have to return home.
- The Donaueck has burned down. Take your old clothes to the Martin Luther Church.
- PeppiKäse is closed. No dinner today. Move back 2 spaces!
- You chatted too long in the community garden. Skip one round and listen to another player’s problems.
- Bad weather, bad mood. Every player gives you the classic grumpy Berlin attitude.
- Bar closures hit the neighborhood: Even La Sala must shut down. Move back 3 salsa steps.
- Housing crisis! Everyone in your building got their lease terminated. Head to the protest at Hermannplatz!
